36.7 MM. Caratunk, ME. A quiet little community the AT passes by. It is the home of Steve Longley 'The Ferryman'. Just after town and the crossing of US 201, he will take you across the Kennebec River on his official AT canoe. Update (2014): Steve Longley has recently died but the ferry service contiues.
