41.9 MM. This is the view from the small sand beach on the northeast shore of Long Pond. There was a picnic table here and a nice place to take a break. It also looks like a nice place to take a swim but when I was here the weather did not cooperate (too cold). Long Pond is one of five lakes the AT skirts on this dayhike from ME 4 to ME 17. 45.3 MM. This is where the AT crosses ME 17, 11 miles south of Oquossuc. Parking is 1/2 mile south and 500 feet lower down ME 17. The view at this crossing of Mooselookmeguntic Lake is stunning. Courtesy askus3@optonline.net
