mm 9.9 - Brien Memorial Shelter where my son and I spent New Year's Eve 2003. We finished up the New York AT section at Bear Mountain Inn the next day.

mm 9.9 - A late summer view of Brien Shelter. The southbound AT descends the rocky knob behind the shelter and then continues west (right in the picture). I saw my first rattlesnake on the AT at the top of the knob.
