mm 3.3 - Morgan Stewart Memorial Shelter was built in 1984 by local volunteers and it can accommodate about 6 people. Water is available from a hand driven iron pump water well located 400 feet downhill on a side trail from the front of the shelter. There is also a privy located about 200 feet from the right side of the shelter. A large fire pit is also there. Courtesy froto

While much of the trail has gradual ascents and descents in this section (the southern part in particular), there are some short steep portions such as this one on the southwest side of Mt. Egbert. This picture was taken at approx. MM 3.8. Courtesy dlcul@conncoll.edu
