mm 9.2 Parking area on Roaring Creek Road. From here one may follow the Overmountain Victory Trail to the AT. Alternatively one may walk up a gated portion of the road to near Overmountain Shelter, then follow the blue-blazed shelter trail to the AT. In either case the AT is reached at Yellow Mountain Gap.
