mm 12.8 Summit of Jane Bald. In 1870 Harriet and Jane Cook were crossing this ridge when Harriet became sick from milk sickness. They spent the night on the mountain. Jane went for help and the two sisters returned to their homes. However Harriet died. The bald is named after Jane. I don't think Harriet got anything named after her. Courtesy dlcul@conncoll.edu
