mm 5.9 At Elkwallow Wayside Parking Area is a gift shop, restaurant, camp store, and gas station. In 2011, the stores were open April 15 to November 6. Open hours are about 9 am to 5:30 pm.

mm 6.3 While there is ample parking at Elkwallow Picnic Area, it is for day parking only. This photo shows just a few of the scores of parking spaces here. The spur trail to the AT is just to the left of the outhouse shown here.
